Bailatino set to wow at ECID Festival

Bailatino Dance Studio are set to wow patrons at the ECID Festival Lights and Street Carnival on 5 November when they perform some fabulous routines.  Run by Claudia Zackey the Bailatino studio in Bedfordview, focuses on fun and the enjoyment of dance in their lessons. They perform a variety of styles within 3 main categories:  Classic: Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet and Spanish, 

Latin : Cha-Cha, Sambo, Paso and Jive and Energy: Energy , Bhungra, slow-style and Hip Hop. Bailatino are a very competitive group and participate in numerous competitions throughout the year.

The three ladies in the picture include Claudia Agostinetto who is just 13 years old and has already been selected twice to compete and represent South Africa in Reunion Island as both part of the team and a soloist. The team managed to place 1st internationally when dancing in Reunion Island.   Claudia has won numerous titles at both the Gauteng championships and the South African Championships.   Claudia says “with the cozy atmosphere at Bailatino Dance Studio I feel as if I am at home, where I can be free to shine through dance.”

Stephanie Backos has been dancing since she was 4 years old. Now 14 she competes in 3 styles of 12 solo dance genres.  Stephanie is currently reigning champion in various styles in the South African Championships and has been for the last 4 years.  Stephanie has been Gauteng Champion a number of times too in various categories.  Stephanie says “nothing makes me happier than when I’m dancing.  It is my passion and has become my escape and way of expressing myself.”

Now 22 years old, Robyn Bond has been dancing for the past 10 years. She works wellness manager at Planet Fitness and also one of the mentors in Solo Dance Latina. Robyn has won many titles from region to region including South African titles and being selected to compete in Reunion with the SA team a number of times.  Robyn assists with teaching at the studio and Robyn says “my passion grows daily to help develop and inspire dancers the same way others did for me.”
